Major Activities Under DIDI Project

• Community Mobilisation & Institutional Strengthening: Mobilising and strengthening VWMCs, VWSCs, Jal Mitras, DIDI leaders, and community institutions for collective water security actions.
• Micro Water Security Planning (MWSP): Preparing household, farm, village, and GP-level water security plans and integrating them into VDPs and GPDPs.
• Strengthening PRIs for Water Governance: Orienting and capacitating PRI representatives on watershed management, ridge-to-valley approaches, and groundwater recharge.
• DIDI Leaders Led Governance Initiatives: Women-led community water security planning, groundwater recharge initiatives, plantation, and forest regeneration.
• Strengthening Jal Mitras: Empowering water volunteers to facilitate water budgeting, aquifer management, and maintenance of local water bodies.
• Strengthening VWMCs and VWSCs: Capacitating water institutions to lead watershed approaches, groundwater recharge, plantation, and water body restoration.
• Use of Mouza Maps & GPS Tools: Utilizing revenue maps, GPS devices, and technical tools for mapping land, forests, and watershed structures.
• Exposure Visits & Cross-Learning: Exposure visits to model watershed development sites for DIDI leaders, Jal Mitras, VWMC members, and PRIs.
• Development & Dissemination of IEC Materials: Disseminating resources on water conservation, rainwater harvesting, aquifer management, and organic farming.
• Convergence & Institutional Engagement: Collaborating with MGNREGS functionaries and line departments to convergence local water planning with public schemes.
• Technical Guidance & Expert Support: Ongoing expert support on technical planning, watershed structures, and site selection.
• External Evaluation & Sustainability Assessment: Independent endline assessment to review program outcomes, ownership, and long-term sustainability.

Major Activities Under APF Project

• Improving Access to Safe Drinking Water: Renovation of dug wells, installation of fluoride removal filters, repair of existing supply systems, and regular testing using FTKs.
• Community Mobilisation & Water Governance: Strengthening VWSCs, WUGs, and Jal Mitras to support community-led planning, operation, and maintenance.
• Awareness & Behaviour Change: Conducting community awareness on fluoride health risks, rainwater harvesting, hygiene, and kitchen gardens.
• Water Security Planning & GPDP Convergence: Preparing VMDWSPs and integrating them into GPDP, Jal Jeevan Mission, and MGNREGS planning systems.
• Natural Resource Management & Restoration: Developing groundwater recharge structures, village ponds, and plantations in convergence with departments.
• Sustainability & Community Ownership: Building capacities of community institutions to manage infrastructure, ensuring long-term functionality.
